The Aims of our Pre-School

 

At Guilden Morden Pre-School our aim is to provide a safe and stimulating environment where children learn through play. Children benefit from a structured, caring and supportive environment and where every child is nutured. Guilden Morden Pre-School is a small, friendly community based pre-school managed by an elected committee of parents who are collectively responsible for the running of the setting.

 

We feel it is important to treat every child as an individual with individual needs, abilities, likes and dislikes, which are taken into account when planning sessions.The pre-school is led by a small, carefully selected team of experienced staff. Each child has a personal keyworker who is responsible for observing and recording each child's individual progress.

 

We provide activities that children can move between freely, allowing them the opportunity of deciding for themselves which they wish to attend, but ensuring that all early learning goals are fully explored. All sessions are designed within the framework of the foundation stage, offering a curriculum that enables children to progress towards the early learning goals, set out to develop each child's ability in the areas of: Language and Literacy; Personal; Social & Emotional Development; Creative Development; Mathematical Development; Physical Development and Knowledge And Understanding Of The World.

 

Overall, Guilden Morden Pre-School enables children to make new friends, encouraging them to develop and learn new things and providing a great preparation for which ever school they go on to attend.
